Humbug about the occupation of Iraq.

'When the occupiers leave, the prevailing civil war [in Iraq] will subside. Ordinary Iraqis will have to choose between killing each other or rebuilding the country - which they can only do in an independent, sovereign Iraq.' (Dr al-Chalabi in The Guardian, 28 December 2006.)

When have the sectarian bigots and gangsters ever paid any attention to what ordinary Iraqis have chosen? And it is perfectly possible not to kill each other and to set about rebuilding a country under occupation: post-war Germans and Japanese did that. So let's have no more of this humbug that the occupation is responsible for the pathological savagery we see in Iraq.
